CED- Looking Out into the Night
My submission for Creative Everyday theme Night. I wish I was more creative but it just wasn't coming. So I found an old painting I started on. She's looking out into the window at night. When I lived up north I loved being up looking out into the street, watching the lightning, or snow, or people walking.

Saturday Sketch
I needed to practice my sketching skills. I used my blue pencil and I quite like them this way. I really want to become better at capturing realistic drawings. These are two students from my school.

Fashion Friday: Orla Kiely & What to Wear
Today is my Fashion Friday. I'm trying to add continuity to my blog. Friday's I hopefully will post a illustrated fashion. I wish I had more time to draw something in the back ground. This is another Orla Kiely Design.

Inspire Me Thursday: Judging
If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. |

CED: Sunday Night
I thought I turn my favorite TV show into frogs. Earl of Grantham: Earl Robert Crawley, Lady of Grantham: Countess Cora Crawley & Dowager Countess Violet Crawley.
So I'm one of those Downton Abbey fans. A Masterpiece Classic that comes on Sunday's @ 9pm on PBS. It's the fictional story that follows the lives of an aristocratic family and servants during the reign of King George V. My husband says it's just a soap opera. I try to explain that its a little more than that, its a era in time that is so different from today, the period clothing, the acting, but I have to admit episode 6 was a little too over dramatic. At least I have some type of drama to watch. I don't watch much TV since they took off Law and Order: original, Criminal Intent, and LA. I'm not into the SVU episodes. I miss TV the way it use to be. One of my all time favorites was 30-something from the late 80's.

Fashion Friday
I'm beginning to fall in love with clothes again. I love this look. I based this illustration on Orla Kiely.
What To Wear
Although the weekend comes I am not the type to throe on a pair of sneakers. I only wear them when I do my morning run or if we are at an amusement park. Occasionally I will wear my Chuck Taylor Converses but only because they are a bit more stylish than my running sneakersThursday, February 9, 2012
Inspire Me Thursday: Success, Failure, Courage
Just A little inspiration to keep focused.
What to Wear
My daughters did not think my ensemble was fashion forward. They said I looked like Little House on the Prairie. Oh well it was comfortable and I felt great. Gray wool dress with splits on the side, cashmere sweater, gray socks that I scrounged down and patent-leather combat boots.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts |

Froggy Chronicles
Two Froggy sisters, so different from each other.
What to Wear
I saw these socks and couldn't resist buying them. I couldn't think why I was so drawn to them. Then later I was thinking they look so yummy, like the Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches I would buy at the corner store. The ice cream was in a square block and they would make it to order and place it in between 2 waffle bread slices. I haven't had one in years. I don't know if they still make them up north where I'm originally from. I've never seen one in the south. I based my outfit of the day on these socks. Pink sweater, brown tank top, beige pants.

CED- Night
Walking in the night forest. I have a lot of ideas for night, but I am not always good at putting it on paper. The white birch trees help to light up the forest at night.
What to Wear
Once again I used a dress as my top. At first I had on a straight leg pant that was fitted, but it look like I was trying to look too young. So I switched to a wide legged pant with a medium heel patent leather boot. ( I purchased the boots for my daughter who was not with me at the time, I thought she would like them. NOT! So I kept them for myself). That was my daytime look. Then for Bible study I change to my red leather high boot. These boots make me feel rich, because it is cooler at night I added the black flyaway sweater.
I find as I get older I don't want to cross the line of looking like I'm trying to be twenty but I do still want to be stylish.

Setting myself free with Watercolor
More water color painting. Yes that is a big insect on her head. I'm embracing painting into my sketchbook with watercolor and not sticking to any color rules just letting go.
WHAT to WEAR
This what I wore to work on Monday, Jan. 30th. It looks alot better on paper. My brown denim jeans are fading, the top which I just purchase is tighter than what I would like (this is what happens when you don't try it on in store). My peachy orange sweater and my Clark clogs were just right.

Watercolor - O what fun!
I'm having fun letting go and adding color directly into my sketchbook. I pulled out my watercolors and painted my drawing.
WHAT TO WEAR - Sunday
Sunday is the Lord's day, My family and I worship regularly. This outfit is my Sunday's Best. Black jacket from Talbot's, gray Old Navy long skirt, Banana Republic cashmere sweater, black high heel boots, Coach purse, and pearl necklace my husband brought me for Christmas. I don't think people use the phrase Sundays Best anymore.
My grandparents always use this term. It relates back to a time when people didn't have many clothes and their best clothing was saved for Sundays. I also remember having school clothes and play clothes, when my sisters and I would get home from school we would have to change clothes.

CED: Night
Oh what a night with my beloved, watching the sky light up.I was hoping for this illustration to look a little more serious but this is how it came out. I wanted more depth.
