House Hunting Woes

My husband and I have been looking for another house for almost a year. Recently after watching in the Company of Men with Ben Affleck we decided to ditch the house hunting idea. I was content on updating our 3bed/3bath 1800 sq. ft. home. However my husband caught the bug again. He found another home 2300 sq. ft. 4bed/ 3bath with 2 car garage (which we currently don't have).  Before I even saw it I told myself that I would hate it, but I didn't. What sold me was the master bath and kitchen. Also to top it off  I will have a larger studio 8ft x 5'10. It is still unfinished, no flooring and only 1 shelf, but that means I can make it all my own. But the woes are, the house did not appraise for what the seller was asking and he is being unreasonable with trying to burden us with additional cost to make up his lost. Hopefully we will know something this week.

Literary Friday

So I've been MIA for a while, but still reading.  I am currently reading The Scavenger's Manifesto. It's about being more eco-minded, how to create a lifestyle out of recycling, reusing, and repurposing rather than buying new. I must admit that I have not been faithful to it. I started reading on April 30, but picked up four other books and completed them Broken Harbor (2 stars); 2030 -The Real Story of What Happens to America (2 stars); Into Thin Air - A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster (4 stars); The Hunter - A Chinese Folktale (4 stars).
Hopefully this week I'll finish The Scavengers Manifesto.
I also wanted to share this great book find at Thrift store. Leather bound books for $4 a piece published 1979. I really don't care about date but I love leather bound books. These look like new, they were never opened.

Faces of RMS - more portraits

The end of the school year is almost here. I have had several students request a portrait. I am attempting to keep my motto and draw something everyday. These portraits keep me in practice. However  I need to get back to painting.
