Life can get muddled

I went to a funeral a couple of weeks ago that has continue to be on my mind. It was for an elderly neighbor. As I looked at the old photos in the obituary and heard the comments from friends and family it made me think about how your life can become muddle. Who you were may not end up who you become.

My goal in life is to continue to become more of who I imagine myself to be. To be consistent, to grow, to enjoy life, to be more Christ-like even as I age. The things that I saw in my neighbor were not the things that his family mentioned. He was not a mean or terrible man, but how do you let your light shine to everyone not just those who are close to you as you start to age.

I told my husband (52) that when we get old I don’t want us to be grumpy, unhappy people. I think the key is not to get muddled-up. Remember who you are, your hopes and dreams, and if you don’t accomplish them have fun while you try.

These are just some thoughts that have been in my head. It’s been awhile since I posted, vacations seem to make me too relaxed. I have a few sketches I attempted. I will add color later.
