I use to avoid putting facial features on my art because they looked cartoonist which is not what I was attempting. I've been challenging myself to not give up and put more detail into my faces.
I see a lot of things in this work. I know I am looking at it through my own tinted glasses but I see a lot of wistfulness. Somehow I see loneliness and regret: or maybe the hope for a better life someday. I hope this is not too sad for you. It may not be what you had in mind at all. It's just what I see.
What a beautiful painting! I see very much how I'm feeling about some things, hoping, hanging on, it's a little sad feeling, but not in a bad way because I think you've done a great job if you have people relating to your work like this.

Having said that, I think it's quite beautiful.

This is very lovely!
I really love the deep, rich colors of your painting. Her face is beautiful!
