Dresser Reading

It was Sunday her favorite day.
Before worship she would get up before everyone. Sneak quietly through the house and get the newspaper. She would go to the sun room and read. The sun room was still unfurnished. The only seat was the old dresser that was her mothers.

This wonderful picture makes me want to know more about "dresser reading"! Was she looking for something specific in the newspaper? Why aren't there any chairs in the sun room?

You are a wonderful children's illustrator!
