Daily Face: April 29th and 30th & Chalk Pastels

Well the end of April is here. In the South it means only 3 more weeks of school. I can say that it has been a pretty good school year. It went by really fast. Everyone is asking if I'm excited about my last child graduating from high school?, and the answer is yes. Then they say will you be sad? Currently I don't think so. I've listen to a lot of older women talk about how lonely their house became after their children all left. So I've been making sure as a mother to keep a small, secret part of myself where all my hopes and dreams go so that when this day came I wouldn't be lost because I poured all of myself into my children. I've made sure to invest in myself. I still have a list of things I would like to accomplish. Now that I will not wear all of those hats a mother with school age children wears I will be able to fully dive into the things I've didn't have time for. So stick around to see if I find out if my views are correct.

I went to an Estate Sell today, as usual I was looking for anything art related. I found these chalk pastels for less than $5, they are still new  Vintage Koss 48 Square Pastels

Daily Face: April 27th and 28th

My April 27th Student illo will have to be a redo. I really didn't do a good job. Although this student is in Junior High he has a lot of facial hair.
I really like my April 28th illo. I didn't get an opportunity to post yesterday. A project I was working on was delayed when both my Windows and Imac didn't want to cooperate.

Sunday Face: April 26th

Went to Bible Study and Worship Service. Had dinner with the Marshall's. They Have a fabulous house in the country. If I live in the country I could raise chickens like my grandparents and grow lots of vegetables.

Daily Face: April 23rd & 24th

Yesterday I was so busy at work that I forgot to take a picture of my desk calendar. Today wasn't so busy. I was able to finish reading a book called "Who Switched Off My Brain?" by Dr. Caroline Leaf it was okay. Things that I have read before.
I'm afraid my daily drawing is only these daily student portraits. I have a schedule of what I should be creating everyday but it is just not working out that way. I have a my daily painting station set up but no painting is going on over there. It just sits and looks at me.

Daily Face: April 22nd

Today was Earth Day and no one I know mentioned it. There were no special programs that I know of were I live. When my children were in elementary it was a big event, now nothing, how sad.

Daily Face: April 21st

My morning run made me very sleepy, so I sneaked back into the bed. Oh what a joyous feeling, for this is something I rarely do. The sun came out and then it was time to get ready for work. Remember to allow yourself to take joy in the simple things.

CED: Poetry Week 4

My submission for Creative Everyday the theme is poetry.

A look,
read as a gentle whispering breath
saying
let your mind hear the wind,
and the water blue
hurrying deep from the sky.

Daily Face: April 20th

While things were slow at work I picked up my book and started reading. I was transported into the pages.  I did not hear the student who had a paper-cut and needed a band-aid. That's what I love about reading.

Daily Face: April 15th and 16th

I didn't go to work on the 15th, I hope everyone turn in their taxes on time. My husband said only people who wait to turn them in usually owe. The 16th was a very good day but my to do list is too long, I'm not going to get much sleep.

Do you love me my sister?

Sisters, they share the same parents yet they are different. Sometimes they know each others secrets and are told not to tell their parents. They can experience the same moment, yet remember it differently. They can love and hate each other, yet will be there. How do you remember your sister?

Daily Face: April 14th

Today was a good day at work. However when I am at work I can't wait to get home, play in the dirt, create art, and read a good book, but instead when you get home there's laundry, dinner to cook, house to clean and a host of to do's.
