What to Wear

I haven't illustrated a "What to Wear" in a long time. I am still struggling with having time to create art. Working 8 hour days is so limiting than to working 4 hour days. But I am not giving up, no many how many times I start only to stop again.

Will You?

An friend of mine wanted some clothes made by a seamstress. She was trying to illustrate what she wanted but was not happy with her drawings, so she asked me to illustrate the clothing for her. This is what I did.

Update: No Clothes and Book Shopping

Okay, I didn't make it through this month. I was out with my husband and I just happen to glance through the racks. I found this Black on Black Hounds-tooth design suit by LeSuit. It has a coat with belt and skirt. It is a classic and will always be stylish. I couldn't let this one slip away.
Although I've made a purchase I am going to continue to see how many days out of a year I can go without  purchasing an item. Hopefully it will be less than 5.
Still going strong without purchasing books, but I am making a list of things I want to read.

Sunday Face: May 3,2014

Sunday Sketchbook and Notes
Thanking God for all of his wonderful mercies he has show us. It was a good day. I like to keep my Sunday's simple. We went to worship service, came home, ate lunch, took a nap, watered my garden, went back to 6 o'clock service came home, ate a snack, watched a movie. Nothing fast pace or stressful. In my What to Wear illo I got tired of drawing so many small dots, so the dress looks more white than it should.

Sunday Face: April 26th

Went to Bible Study and Worship Service. Had dinner with the Marshall's. They Have a fabulous house in the country. If I live in the country I could raise chickens like my grandparents and grow lots of vegetables.

Sunday Face & What to Wear

Today is the Lord's Day. My family and I always go to Morning and Evening Service on Sundays. This is a page from my Sunday Journal Page. I was a little drowsy I must admit. I'm attempting to start my What to Wear illustrations, let' see how long I can last this time. I think once a week should be enough.

Illustration Friday: Yesterday

When I was growing up converse sneakers were the top of the line sneakers. Everyone wanted to have a pair. It's amazing how yesterday's fad is still current today.

Fashion Friday: Orla Kiely & What to Wear

Today is my Fashion Friday. I'm trying to add continuity to my blog. Friday's I hopefully will post a illustrated  fashion. I wish I had more time to draw something in the back ground. This is another Orla Kiely Design.

What to Wear
I wore this ensemble Feb. 5 to worship service. I very seldom wear the blue Worthington jacket, but it turned out quite nice with my linen skirt. I have to show you a picture of my non-conservative shoes. They are so funky I couldn't resist buying them. They are denim and blue cheetah print.

Fashion Friday

I'm beginning to fall in love with clothes again. I love this look. I based this illustration on Orla Kiely.

What To Wear
Although the weekend comes I am not the type to throe on a pair of sneakers. I only wear them when I do my morning run or if we are at an amusement park. Occasionally I will wear my Chuck Taylor Converses but only because they are a bit more stylish than my running sneakers

Inspire Me Thursday: Success, Failure, Courage

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts

Just A little inspiration to keep focused.

What to Wear
My daughters did not think my ensemble was fashion forward. They said I looked like Little House on the Prairie. Oh well it was comfortable and I felt great. Gray wool dress with splits on the side, cashmere sweater, gray socks that I scrounged down and patent-leather combat boots.

CED- Night

Walking in the night forest. I have a lot of ideas for night, but I am not always good at putting it on paper. The white birch trees help to light up the forest at night.

What to Wear
Once again I used a dress as my top. At first I had on a straight leg pant that was fitted, but it look like I was trying to look too young. So I switched to a wide legged pant with a medium heel patent leather boot. ( I purchased the boots for my daughter who was not with me at the time, I thought she would like them. NOT! So I kept them for myself). That was my daytime look. Then for Bible study I change to my red leather high boot. These boots make me feel rich, because it is cooler at night I added the black flyaway sweater.
I find as I get older I don't want to cross the line of looking like I'm trying to be twenty but I do still want to be stylish.

What to Wear

This is what I wore to work. I love this green top from Old Navy. I wore it with green tank because it is low cut, black pants with slinder green stripes, and black low heel boots.

CED: WHAT TO WEAR

January 26 outfit. I wore a Hollister white tee with my wide-leg dark blue jeans. I like these jeans because you have to look at them closely to see that they are jeans. Great for work.
That evening we had PTA/Open House at my daughters high school. I put on my dark blue dress with stripes over jeans & tee. Whenever I wear this dress I'm using it as a jacket, most people ask me what is it? To me its whatever I want t to be. That is how fashion goes if you can pull it off. You just have to have confidence when you do your own thing.

CED - New Journal - WHAT TO WEAR?

I've been thinking a lot about my fashion sense, wardrobe, and clothes clutter. Do I have enough in my wardrobe to stay stylish? Do I have too much of everything, because my closets are jammed pack. I decided to start yet another new journal. WHAT TO WEAR - an illustrated journal of what I wore and to where. Hopefully this will help me to stay mindful I what I already have and what I don't need.
This is what I wore January 24. A baby blue wrap cotton shirt that ties in the back. Old Navy crop pants, low heel black boots. I wore this to work and an unscheduled meeting that I was hoping to get at the school board. The meeting didn't happened I was told to come back Wednesday. I did however visit the Lead Nurse she said she loved my boots. I didn't illustrate my bag. I carried this Pelle Wilson Leather Bag. I ran out of time to change it.

Reading: Just For Fun

As I was at the library I came across a funny book cover so I decided to pick it up. It's called Fashion Kitty and the Unlikely Hero by Charise Mericle Harper. I thought my fashionista daughter would like it. Of course I couldn't resist reading it for myself. It was so funny, it brought back my inner child because sometimes you need a laugh.
Fashion Kitty has met her biggest challenge: school uniforms" The school principal thinks fashion has become a distraction and no one is learning so now Kiki and her friends have to wear uniforms. Ugh!
