SYF: Playing with Markers

"Looking for brighter days"
Playing with markers at my desk. The schools are testing so I have less children coming to clinic. The first two portraits are on sheets of art paper. The third one is in drawn in my moleskine. All of the lines are counting days. The inspiration came from Andrea Hubner photos.

Show Your Face: Eyes

The prompt this week for Show Your Face is Eyes. I wanted to do something different than my daily face eyes. At the time when I drew this I had only highlighters with me, so that it what I used to add color.

Sketchbook Moleskine: Draw Me!

Often I get request from students who come into the Clinic to "draw me!" Sometimes I think that the drawing does look like them but children often look at the picture and recognize who the student is that I've illustrated. This is one that I drew in my moleskine.

Daily Face: May 1st & 4th

As usual things were so busy that I was not able to post my current student portraits. These two portraits were requested by the students. When they come into my office and see my daily portraits they ask me to draw a picture of them also.

Monday May 4th, you can tell that the school year is almost over, the children are very restless.

Daily Face: April 27th and 28th

My April 27th Student illo will have to be a redo. I really didn't do a good job. Although this student is in Junior High he has a lot of facial hair.
I really like my April 28th illo. I didn't get an opportunity to post yesterday. A project I was working on was delayed when both my Windows and Imac didn't want to cooperate.

Daily Face: April 22nd

Today was Earth Day and no one I know mentioned it. There were no special programs that I know of were I live. When my children were in elementary it was a big event, now nothing, how sad.

Daily Face: April 21st

My morning run made me very sleepy, so I sneaked back into the bed. Oh what a joyous feeling, for this is something I rarely do. The sun came out and then it was time to get ready for work. Remember to allow yourself to take joy in the simple things.

Daily Face: April 15th and 16th

I didn't go to work on the 15th, I hope everyone turn in their taxes on time. My husband said only people who wait to turn them in usually owe. The 16th was a very good day but my to do list is too long, I'm not going to get much sleep.

AEDM: Day 17 What a Bird

Yellow crowned night heron
My entry for AEDM, yet another bird. This is a Yellow Crowned Night Heron. If you are interested in these birds, they are found in Florida. Once again I took liberty with their color.

AEDM: Playing Catch Up - Day 7: 3 & 4

Still catching up with everyone. Here is Day 3 & 4. The first picture is in my big giant sketchbook that I'm just trying to set myself free. I have a fear of just adding color in my sketchbooks because I want them to be perfect, so I'm letting go. Put on a "hennin" or pointy princess hat and you can rule the world.
Day 3

The second illo is from a sketchbook from 2007 that I am still trying to complete.

CED: Art Everyday Month Day 6:1 & 2

So I missed the opening of Art Everyday Month, here are to pictures two catch me back up.

The first is a drawing I did of my daughter with her Halloween costume as a Vampire with really long lashes. For the second illustration I went to the library to practice drawing people on my iPad. This older man was in the reference room working at a computer.

Black/White and I'm Happy All Over

To be true to myself I went back to who I am on paper. I love black and white illustration. I drew this picture with pencil a couple of years ago and laid it aside, then filed it away. While looking for some old drawings to add color to I came across my pencil drawings and decided to skip coloring drawing and go back to my black and white. I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

AEDM Day 8 - Red Shoes

I've been wanting to draw this little pic, but I didn't get the perspective I wanted. It should be looking from the shoe up. So I'll try it again, but for now it's my entry for Art Everyday Month.
