Calendar Drawing 2024

It has been such a long time since I posted any of my art work. I have continued to draw my daily face, I just haven't had the opportunity to post.

I thought that when we became empty nesters that my life would give me more free time but that has not been the case.

I'm hoping that in 2024 I will be carve out time for me.

CED: Poetry Week 4

My submission for Creative Everyday the theme is poetry.

A look,
read as a gentle whispering breath
saying
let your mind hear the wind,
and the water blue
hurrying deep from the sky.

My Flesh is as Grass

Today I went to Barnes and Noble, look through some of my favorite magazines, became inspired, became frustrated with myself, and practiced drawing. Then I went back to one of my old sketchbooks picked out a drawing that I was afraid to add color to and this is the result. I colored the leaves, dress, and face with markers, then scanned it, colored the background in Photoshop. I am pleased!

New Moleskine - Froggy Chronicles

Well I completed another moleskine and started on a new one. I started the Froggy Chronicles. I don't know if I'll fill my moleskine with just frogs. I hope they make you smile. I'm trying to let go.

AEDM - Snow is in the Air

I've been watching the news of all the snow up north. I'm sure they are tired of it but I love snow and I am currently snow starved here in the south. We had a little on Christmas Day but enough to play in. I'm originally from up north and spent a couple of years in Colorado so I think winter means snow. I use to love to be out in the fresh brisk snow air.

Book Review

This is the 1st book I've read for 2008.
For my own personal challenge I decided to try to illustrate something from the book. This book was interesting. A little perverse for my taste in some areas but I had read to far to stop reading. My illustration doesn't have any blood because that's not my thing. The story takes place in 1700's and is written by Diana Gabaldon.
Magruder was waiting for them outside the shed, with one of his constables. "My lord." Magruder inclined his head, looking curiously at Grey "What happened to-" "Where did you find her?" Grey interrupted. "In Saint James's Park," the constable replied. "In the bushes by the path." "Where?" Grey said incredulously. Saint James's was the preserve of merchants and aristocrats, where the young, the rich, and the fashionable strolled to see and be seen. Magruder shrugged, slightly defensive. "People out for an early walk found her or rather, their dog did." He stepped back, ushering the soldiers ahead of him through the door to the tack room. "There was considerable blood." ......"Think it's the same?" Quarry asked, watching him. "The dress, I mean. You've an eye for such things."
