Welcome to My Home and School Office

Welcome to my home and work office. I thought I would share a few fall photos before October is over. I'll start with my school office. I like to use pop-up cards to decorate my desk. Each year I make the tall tree on the wall and have students write what they like most about fall.

Welcome to my home. Here are just a few of my fall decor photos. I used to have four of these little pumpkins.  One for each daughter, but one year when I was putting them away I broke one. It hurt me that I did that. I still have it, thinking I'll glue it back together. I'm using my vintage Lenox China to set the dining room table. I made some Northern Bean and spinach soup for my husband and I to enjoy. Then its off for a good nights sleep. Hopefully I'll get to dress my bed one year like the Anthropologie bedroom with some darker colors.

Autumn at my Home: Welcome

My Front Porch
Welcome to my home. It's slowly becoming my most favorite time of the year Autumn. I have so many fond memories of playing outside, reading a book, playing in the leaves. I miss having the front porch of my childhood, but I'll work with what I have. I found this deacon's bench at an estate auction. It fits perfectly. I can sit, have coffee and read while the cool air fills my soul. (Click picture for closer look)

My Flesh is as Grass

Today I went to Barnes and Noble, look through some of my favorite magazines, became inspired, became frustrated with myself, and practiced drawing. Then I went back to one of my old sketchbooks picked out a drawing that I was afraid to add color to and this is the result. I colored the leaves, dress, and face with markers, then scanned it, colored the background in Photoshop. I am pleased!

CED: Trees

Guidance Office
I've been stalking CED, but unable to submit anything because I have been so busy. However since it is the last day of October I did want to show off my trees I made for school bulletin board. I made a non-traditional fall tree for Guidance Office and a traditional tree for the Clinic, which is my office. The last is a watercolor I painted a while back, but I love it.

Look Up

Make sure that you take the time during the holiday season to enjoy nature. There is no snow here where I live and winter is not the same without it. I miss sleighing, snowmen, and snowball fights. So for winter I look at the trees with the last few leaves holding on and not willing to be set free.

AEDM - Face 13 - I love Fall

I didn't have time for a story today. As a matter of fact I didn't have time to finish adding color because I didn't want to ruin my drawing. Instead of paint I used pencils and markers for color.
