Lately that Blue Cloud as cast it shadow over me. I have not been motivated to create. So what should you do. Well, I went to my moleskine and found these two uncolored drawings and added color to them. My blueness came out in the form of color.

CED: Mixed Media
It's Never Too Late
When I saw the prompt for this month I was not excited. I am not good at adding different things and coming up with something beautiful. However I did give it a try. I used a old calendar book from 2008, a face that I painted on a library catalog card, old book pages, scrapbook paper (which I completed covered up) and some scrapbook stickers.
This is what I came up with. Definitely not my best but I tried. My scanner would scan the entire page so I attempted to take a picture of it.

CED- Looking Out into the Night
My submission for Creative Everyday theme Night. I wish I was more creative but it just wasn't coming. So I found an old painting I started on. She's looking out into the window at night. When I lived up north I loved being up looking out into the street, watching the lightning, or snow, or people walking.

AEDM - Face 13 - I love Fall
I didn't have time for a story today. As a matter of fact I didn't have time to finish adding color because I didn't want to ruin my drawing. Instead of paint I used pencils and markers for color.

Face 8 - Regretful
Sometimes we are regretful for the decisions that we have made, but we can only pray that everything will turn out well.

Face 6 - Gentle
March gently with the shadows, yet breath the wind.
I have a poetry board in my office at school which I allow children to create while their waiting. There is one student who loves the board. This is her short poem.

Face 3 - Je suis une femme

| I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan, and never let my husband forget he's a man. Do you remember that commercial for Enjoli perfume? |
Je peux ramener chez le bacon, faire frire jusqu'à dans une poêle et jamais laisser mon mari oublier que c'est un homme. Cause, je suis une femme - w-o-m-a-n.

IF:Cultivate
It's been awhile since I've submitted for Illustration Friday. I've tried to cultivate to being a more green person. As I slowly make changes it makes you more aware of how much further you need to go. And then there are the people who just don't get it. I shop at the Military Commissary, so I went in with all of my recyclable green bags, do you know that the baggers were putting my groceries in plastic bags and placing them in my green bags. I had to make them stop using the plastic. I couldn't believe that they didn't get it.

IF: Old Fashioned
She wanted to break things off so she wrote him a letter.Letter writing has become very old fashioned with the invention of technology email and texting. I used to loved getting a hand written letter from family members and friends. If email had been around 25 years ago I would not have cherished letters from my mother one year before she passed away unexpectedly. I can't remember the last time I received a hand written letter.Do you? (I'm not talking about the generic family letters you get at Christmas either).

Phenomenal Woman I want to be!
I haven't been doing any art work lately. I did do a journal entry for my flickr, but it was so personal I didn't feel confortable sharing it with everyone. Maybe when my life is no longer on hold I can be more open. When I am going through life's valleys I am ready to get back to the peak. Where everything is going according to plan. But for a while now things are not going to plan.
I feel like I'm in a bottle. I can't move around I can think outside of my limits. I'm not in a good place to be creative. So last night I did do to pictures, one for Illustration Friday the word was citrus. The second picture was of a African American woman. I called her the "Phenomenal Woman" for some reason Maya Angelo's words were in my mind as I painted her. I think that its a little better than some of my other acrylic skin tones. I still need lots of practice. When things turn around I hope I can take an art class. I really wish it would happen before June. Oh well, stay positive, keep holding on.
The one thing that I am keeping up dispite my lack of motivation is reading. Currently I'm trying to get thru the DaVinci Code. I only chose to read it because I wanted to see what the hub-bub was about. I can't get into it, but my goal is to finish each book that I have selected on my 50 Book Challenge.
