Remember My Fabriano Sketchbook?

I must admit that I am terrible at art challenges, even the ones that I set for myself. Today I picked up my sketchbook Fabriano and drew picture 9 called Sisters. May 2015 Challenge Fabriano Sketchbook.

No Clothes Buying Update

I found another wonderful blouse that I would have purchase today. It's navy and white. I wanted to throw in the towel and just buy it but I took a picture instead.
So far it has been 15 days of no buying clothes or books. I seem okay with the books because I have enough unread books to last for a year, but clothes on the other hand is a different story. Why do we never have enough?

Challenge - Can I do it?

I signed up for a 2016 Challenge. I hope that I can do it. Every time I do my own personal challenge when it comes to art, life gets in the way and I don't follow through. If you  are interested you can join here Color Me Positive Challenge.

Sketchbook Fabriano: No longer a timed challenge

When life hits you some battles you can let go. I decided that it is not profitable for me to keep a time challenge on my Sketchbook Fabriano Gray-scale; I'm just going to go with the flow and focus on my real life challenges. So this is what I did today.

As usual you have great plans but life throws you a curve ball. I got off track because of life. I'm praying for God's mercy to see me through.
So I have to regroup and hopefully finish this challenge before June 30th.
Sometimes when you fall you have to get up and keep trying.

Nothing much to say, this is a drawing for my Gray-scale Fabriano Challenge. There is one brush pen that seems more purple than gray or black.

Daily Face: May 6th & Fabriano Challenge

A very uneventful day. Had a great morning run, work was the usual. I was so excited about adding another illustration in my Fabriano Sketchbook Gray-scale challenge and it came out hideous. I really don't like it. I tried to fix it but to no avail it does not speak to me. Then I had the dilemma of, do I really want to show something I don't like? Finally I decided to show it anyway. Hopefully it will make me become a better artist. I actually have a blog were I show my unwanted art called Fourborne Days of Art.

My May Challenge: Fabriano Sketchbook

Fabriano Sketchbook

I woke up this morning and decided to challenge myself. I have this sketchbook I purchased from Blick Art Supply its a Fabriano Sketchbook made in Italy. It has 40 pages. My challenge is to complete 35 pages by the end of May. Let me add this disclaimer: I am not good with challenges. However this will be the first challenge that I put on my blog that is not from someone else. Also I only plan on using my Tombo Dual Brush Pens in Gray-scale Palette to color all illustrations. This is my first drawing

Paper 53: Imitation of Life

Tuesday's are for my Paper 53 personal challenge. Sometimes however my art does not turn out right. This is my rendition of my niece. I love her attitude in this dress.

I Surrender

Sometimes you may feel like surrendering when life throws you some very hard blows, but don't surrender. God has the answers, but you have to go to his word, believe, and trust. Surrender only to God!

Literary Friday

I am currently reading The Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian. He is an excellent fiction storyteller. Hopefully I will enjoy this story too.

     

I just finished reading Shift by Charolette Agell about a fifteen year-old Adrian Havoc's world. . The end of the world as we know it, or is there some plot by the Homestate a.k.a. government to manipulate us. Homestate rules every aspect of society: identity cards need to be carried at all times, evolution is a forbidden topic of discussion, and religious education is enforced in daily "rapture" doses. A rumor is being spread about a Shift in the universe. Can it really be the end of the world.

I enjoyed the story for this young adult book. What I did not enjoy was the use of profanity. I did not expect such language to be appropiate in a book directed at the young. My children said that I would be shocked if I worked at a high school.
The plot was good. This was a easy read if you are looking for light. A book that draws you in as you read and makes you want to know what happens next.

Creative Everyday Challenge - Air

Christmas is in the Air I love Christmas time. I just wish that retailer's would wait for the week of Thanksgiving before they start pushing Christmas on us, this year they started before Halloween. We went shopping and they were playing Christmas music, I just tried to ignore it. But now it's Christmas time. I visited one of my most favorite stores after Thanksgiving "Pottery Barn" I fell in love with this ribbon Happy Holidays that is wrapped around the tree.

Creative Everyday - You could Smell the Rain in the Air.

I love the smell of fresh rain in the air. Nothing smells better in the summer. I know that it is snow season but I was thinking about rain.

I'm not going to make it to 30 illustrations for June I had to go out of town , and one day I spent in ER with daughter. At least I tried. There is always July.
