Well the end of April is here. In the South it means only 3 more weeks of school. I can say that it has been a pretty good school year. It went by really fast. Everyone is asking if I'm excited about my last child graduating from high school?, and the answer is yes. Then they say will you be sad? Currently I don't think so. I've listen to a lot of older women talk about how lonely their house became after their children all left. So I've been making sure as a mother to keep a small, secret part of myself where all my hopes and dreams go so that when this day came I wouldn't be lost because I poured all of myself into my children. I've made sure to invest in myself. I still have a list of things I would like to accomplish. Now that I will not wear all of those hats a mother with school age children wears I will be able to fully dive into the things I've didn't have time for. So stick around to see if I find out if my views are correct. I went to an Estate Sell today, as usual I was looking for anything art related. I found these chalk pastels for less than $5, they are still new Vintage Koss 48 Square Pastels
Yesterday I was so busy at work that I forgot to take a picture of my desk calendar. Today wasn't so busy. I was able to finish reading a book called "Who Switched Off My Brain?" by Dr. Caroline Leaf it was okay. Things that I have read before.
I'm afraid my daily drawing is only these daily student portraits. I have a schedule of what I should be creating everyday but it is just not working out that way. I have a my daily painting station set up but no painting is going on over there. It just sits and looks at me.
From the moment I stepped into my office today I was busy. Everyone wanted to be sick today. I even left late, so I had no time to draw on my calendar. I did this illustration at home so a day would not go by that I didn't do a portrait. His eyes are wacky though.
Today was a very busy day. I did however managed to do my daily face. I thought that I would get to participate in Creative Everyday the theme being "Poetry" but it will not happen today. I had a client and worked late. Maybe tomorrow.
Today was a good day. Went to work, decorated my office for spring, got to leave early, came home played in the dirt, went to B&N with my family look at garden books, got paid for my side job as a Professional Organizer, went to mandatory meeting for seniors, daughter received cap and gown. God has blessed me with a good day. I am thankful for all that I have.
Today is my dad's birthday. No one played a joke on me, not even my youngest daughter Chloe. She could of gotten me good too, because she had her defense today. She is an IBCC student and had to defend her IB portfolio. (IB = International Baccalaureate). She passed. Normally she will send a text saying she failed only to tell me it was a joke. Her IB Portfolio was a lot of work.
It's the last day of March and my to do list is very long. I'm so grateful for my little calendar, because it stares at me saying you didn't draw on me today
Well Spring Break is over and it's back to work. I checked the school calendar and there are no more days off. Also there are no Teacher Planning days when staff comes to school but children stay home.
