EDM #15 - Fall is Coming

I love fall in Georgia. It's probably our biggest season change. Fall in Georgia is the only season that reminds me of living up north. I hate the hot summers here and the mosquitos. I love our street in New Jersey with sidewalks and lots of leaves. My backyard in Georgia.

IF: Wedding

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall become one flesh. Whenever I think of a wedding I think of two becoming one. When a man and a woman do join in marriage to become one you must give some of yourself away. My husband and I will be celebrating 25 years of marriage in October.

My sisters and I. This was a sad time for us, our older sister passed away. This picture sits on my desk at work. She passed away some years ago. She was 43 years old.

The dream is to own a Land Rover. The mini vans have been good for me but now it's time to move on.(Maybe One Day)

IF: Signs

This is a weird one and not very artsy, but when I think of signs I think of my grandparents. They believed in "roots". These are signs my grandmother told me. If your left hand was itching you would receive money. If it was your right hand you would receive a letter. When your eye was jumping something bad was going to happen and when you see a red bird you would have a visit from someone you haven't seen for a while. Maybe when I'm better I could do it some justice.

Phenomenal Woman I want to be!

I haven't been doing any art work lately. I did do a journal entry for my flickr, but it was so personal I didn't feel confortable sharing it with everyone. Maybe when my life is no longer on hold I can be more open. When I am going through life's valleys I am ready to get back to the peak. Where everything is going according to plan. But for a while now things are not going to plan. I feel like I'm in a bottle. I can't move around I can think outside of my limits. I'm not in a good place to be creative. So last night I did do to pictures, one for Illustration Friday the word was citrus. The second picture was of a African American woman. I called her the "Phenomenal Woman" for some reason Maya Angelo's words were in my mind as I painted her. I think that its a little better than some of my other acrylic skin tones. I still need lots of practice. When things turn around I hope I can take an art class. I really wish it would happen before June. Oh well, stay positive, keep holding on. The one thing that I am keeping up dispite my lack of motivation is reading. Currently I'm trying to get thru the DaVinci Code. I only chose to read it because I wanted to see what the hub-bub was about. I can't get into it, but my goal is to finish each book that I have selected on my 50 Book Challenge.
