 I hope all the Veterans who served our country had a wonderful day! To those of you who don't know, I served. See those combat boots. When I served you did PT (physical training) in those boots. No sneakers for us.

Daily Face: October 2nd & 5th

 Have you ever been so busy that you just don't feel like yourself? That's the way I'm feeling. I'm behind in my reading. Projects I committed to accomplish are not happening.

Daily Face: September 25th, 28th, & 29th

Monday I had to laugh at myself: I called a parent to let them know that their child had a fall but he was okay. I had to leave a message because no one answered phone. So I was explaining what happened, I left the school phone number than I said in Jesus name as though I was closing a prayer. Then I caught myself before I said Amen. I closed the phone call. Then I burst out laughing because somehow I thought I was praying. The clerk said she heard me and was wondering what I was doing. I just laughed so hard. I always send home an accident report form home when I'm unable to contact parents, on the form I explained about my weird closing of message, I just had been in a prayerful state of mind the entire day. When I got home I told my husband, we had a good laugh. So if you need a good laugh just imagine.

Daily Faces: 16th,17th, 18th & 21st

 I had to go away for a few days. My dad was in the hospital, he fell and had to have surgery, fluids pushing on his brain. He's doing better out of ICU talking and eating.
I forgot how tiring waiting in a hospital could be. After I got back I felt like I ran a marathon.

 I've done a pretty good job at keeping up with my work desk calendar illustrating students, but since I've tried to do it at home also it has not been working out for me so I'm behind in my sixth grade portraits. I had a little time before I left for work this morning and thought I would try to catch up.

Daily Face: I forgot

Yesterday I woke up, did my regular morning routine which included drawing a portrait. I thought I had posted it until I came to my computer at 10:30 pm wanting to make sure that I posted a daily portrait today before I went to bed only then realized I forgot yesterdays portrait.
I'm over 50 and its funny how you forget things, even my husband who is so meticulous, now forgets things. I told him this could be dangerous because we are both forgetting things.

I am suppose to be getting ready to leave for College trip instead I'm in my studio drawing a face. I hope I left enough time time get my hair right.

Finally I am back on track, but for how long I do not know. We are taking our last child to her College Open House. We will be gone for two days.

Getting Back on Track: Daily Face Student Collage

I've been trying to find the best format to post my illustrations when I'm trying to get back on track. I thought a collage would be good. I really admire artist who can commit to painting daily. I find it a challenge just to draw one illustration  every day. If you wonder why the numbers skip it is because I usually don't draw on the weekend pages of my calendar because of the lines.
 And I found out that I'm an impatient artist, when I start on a piece I would like to be finish the same day.

Back from Vacation: Catch up Video

Vacation is over, just tried to relax and read while in Florida. Here are my illustration to catch myself back up. Still behind though and soon it will be time for me to go back to work. I really wish that I was creating something more beautiful.

Daily Face: June 24 Student Portrait

Well no amazing art happening here today, but I did do this portrait. My husband and I are planning a brief getaway with no children, so I don't know if I will have any more portraits for a few days. I hope that while I'm on vacation I will put ink to paper.

Yeah, I think I'm back on the rode to consistency. However I would like to start painting again and drawing more than portraits.

Today I did not accomplish all that I wish. But I spent time just being with my husband, which is never a waste of time. We are best friends. It's nearing the end of the day and I finally made myself come to my office to draw my daily face.

I decided to do something different to catch up my student portraits. Instead of showing them to blog I made a video. Hope you like it. I'm now officially caught up with my portraits. Now I have to catch up my reading challenge.

Finally I'm getting into the month of June with my student portraits. I try to draw these as quickly as possible to work on my drawing skills.

Daily Face: Student Portraits May 26th, 27th & 28th

My husband asked me if my May 26th student portrait drawing was a girl or boy? It's a boy having a bad hair day. It is as though he picked his hair out without a mirror present. I'm sure everyone has had a bad hair day student photo. My mom had my hair looking beautiful for picture day. I missed the school bus and walked to school. Of course it began to rain before I made it to school. I tried to fix my hair but to no avail my cute little shirley-temple curls were gone. The Photographer, Snap! Photo. Everyone laugh at my school picture when we got them back. As  a matter of fact I still have it.
